Polish PM Tusk Highlights Global Costs of Wars in Iran, Ukraine
“We all pay a high price for Israel and the US' war on Iran, as well as Russia's on Ukraine. Not just at the gas station,” Tusk wrote on the US social media platform X, drawing attention to both economic and broader consequences of the wars.
He emphasized that the Polish government is tackling the crises through “tough but responsible decisions,” while also relying on “the nation's unity around security issues.”
The remarks come as the United States and Israel continue operations against Iran, which began with an air offensive on Feb. 28. The conflict has so far claimed more than 1,340 lives, including Iran’s Supreme Leader at the time, Ali Khamenei.
In retaliation, Iran has conducted drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military installations. These actions have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and air travel.
